More Play Than Work

This week we did more play than work, so we will report on our play adventures. With Monday being President's Day we only worked three days. Monday's activity was exploring the Pima Air And Space Museum.

We will start with the smallest plane we saw. Bumble Bee II the world's smallest piloted airplane.

Super Guppy is a large, wide-bodied cargo aircraft that was used for hauling oversized cargo components.

Boeing's newest aircraft the 787 passenger jet. Wouldn't want to get sucked up by this engine.

Fridays outing was to the Tohono Chul Botanical Garden where we could discover the Sonoran Desert landscape and walk the trails of several distinct habitats of the region.

Friday evening we attended the Community Home Repair annual meeting and fundraiser supper.
This mirror was made by one of the volunteers for the silent auction. The starburst pattern was created  with recycled fan blades.

Here are several other creative pieces of art. We were fortunate to receive the native painting on a marble slab.

Saturday's activities included shopping at a pecan store, hiking and birdwatching at Madera Canyon, and exploring some of many artisan shops in the touristy town of Tubac.
