At the "R" House

Annette and Kathy practised their taping and mudding in the attic closet.

Jim sprayed texture on all the ceilings and walls throughout the house. The texture is knocked down with a trowel a half hour after spraying.

Beginning the next stage by cutting in the paint primer.

Our son, Matthew joined us for a week. He was put to work painting ceilings and two coats on the walls.

It was great to have Matthew join our crew of five painting.

Touring the Gulf Coast Area

Holly Beach was once a bustling beach town which was wiped off the map by Hurricane Rita. All that remained were foundation posts and concrete pads. Now we are seeing some new construction happening. Holly Beach is approximately 20 miles south of Hackberry on the Gulf Coast.
This is the mobile Cameron MDS site situated on the grounds of a destroyed apartment complex. The foundation posts in the foreground are all that remain after the storm surge washed the apartments away.

The 15 - 20 foot storm surge took away most homes and businesses. This pictures shows what is left of this church. Basic cleanup has already taken place.

The Cameron MDS group is building new homes in the area.

Ninth Ward in New Orleans still has street after street of damaged, uninhabited homes, leaving you with an erie feeling.

Signs of hope as we see people rebuilding their homes while still living in their FEMA trailers.
