While in the Rio Grande Valley we stayed at Citrus RV Park from which we did numerous day trips. One day we spent at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park which is the headquarters of the World Birding Center. Here we saw numerous birds found no where else except in south Texas and Mexico. The city of McAllen runs a former mansion, Quinta Mazatlan as a birding center with nature trails, feeders and water features to attract birds. The Altamira Oriole.

Spring arrives in Texas.
From a hiking trail in a state park we could look across the Rio Grande River into Mexico.
Hidalgo is a town on the banks of the Rio Grande River where we saw them erecting this wall “The Iron Curtain” to keep out illegals.
Some of the last of the seasons grapefruit are on a tree next to our camper. We have enjoyed these mouth-watering grapefruit.
