First Week of Travels South
As Jim was doing fall yard work he watched the geese flying overhead and felt they were calling “Jim, Jim time to go south”, therefore we celebrated my birthday and our grandsons, Ajay and Maddox’s 2nd birthday a month early.

For this trip we chose to travel through Minnesota in order to explore some new territory. Our first nights stop was at Itasca State Park. On a walk we enjoyed the contrasting yellow color of the tamarack up against the green of the spruce.

Lake Itasca the "Headwaters" of the mighty Mississippi River.
Enroute to Branson we stopped and overnighted with friends Walt and Ruby near Kansas City, Missouri. While there we were entertained by Walt’s pet bird, Sinbad.
In Branson we attended three concerts, The Oakridge Boys, The Platters and The Twelve Irish Tenors. These groups whether young or old performed with gusto.
We chose to backtrack from Branson and head west into Oklahoma in order to avoid steep winding roads in Arkansas. A fellow camper recommended some smaller highways which proved to be an enjoyable and scenic drive. We ended our day at Twin Bridges State Park, Oklahoma.
