Our Travels From Southern Manitoba to the Okanagan

After taking a nearly two year break from volunteering and blogging we are happy to be at it again.

Early departure from home on Wednesday in order to make miles before it got to windy.

A lunch stop in Gull Lake SK. Note the giant wheat stock at the right - made of metal.

Annette got her train fix when we camped in Medicine Hat, AB. The CP mainline was about 200' from us. The engineers of the many trains that passed by were considerate with minimal noise.

Gas prices varied from a low of 1.19 in SK to 1.44 in BC. Some days we needed to do more than one fill-up. Ouch!

We made a return visit to Bow Rivers Edge Campground in Cochrane AB. This very well maintained campground has a walking path beside the river.

The foot hills of Alberta gave us the first views of the snow covered mountains.

In the higher elevations the snow was at the edge of the road. Great drive all the way through.

The first glimpses of spring with budding trees, blossoms and green crops were in the area of Sicamous and further south.
