It's fall and time to do some more traveling, volunteering and blogging about it.
Our travels west through Saskatchewan and into Alberta were better than we had anticipated. Sunshine and very little wind makes for easier driving.

Our second day's night stop was at Redcliff AB. We soon became aware of this communities many greenhouses and saw a sign that said "The Greenhouse Capital of the Prairies". They supply Canadians with cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, eggplant and more. We were surprised to see many large greenhouses in the northwest corner of town. Check out Google maps satellite image.
Rows and rows of greenhouses
Our third day we parked our RV in Carstairs AB and visited relatives and then moved to another campground in Cochrane AB to be closer to Calgary where we had lunch, coffee and supper with various families.

The clouds prevented us from seeing the mountain tops. Note the hoar frost on the trees part way down.
With rain and high winds moving in Friday night and Saturday, we decided to wait with our travels till Sunday morning. Sunday roads were good, but we could see the snow in the bushes from the previous days snowfall in the Banff area. Our travels through the Rockies should have been dramatic with the mountains, but with low clouds we saw very little of this rugged country. By the time skies cleared we were in the touristy areas of the Okanagan.

After a long days drive we arrived in Oliver by 5:30 p.m. (BC time).
This will be home for the next month.
Work begins Monday morning. Will tell you more about that next time.
