Christmas Break and Making Memories for 2012

It is good to be back at making new memories after our Christmas break. In a five week span at home we enjoyed connecting with family and friends over several Christmas dinners. This year we chose to fly home instead of driving four long days each way on questionable road conditions.

Jim pruned his grape vines and apple tree while enjoying the much milder temperatures than the norm for Manitoba. Annette kept very busy with cooking and baking in preparation for Christmas functions.

Here is the new, modern and empty Winnipeg airport terminal. What a contrast to the busy Toronto and Chicago airports at which we had connecting flights.

We are back at Lakewood Retreat Center where ten years ago we had our first volunteering experience. Lakewood Retreat is a Mennonite Church Camp which is "Sharing God's love through service by providing a setting to experience Jesus Christ". We are located in the Campground A section of this artists version map.

Upon the invitation of some friends we attended the Florida RV Show in Tampa on Saturday. It is featured as the largest RV show in the country, so after this there is no point in going to any others. We picked up a few goodies, but we are still very happy with our rig.

We will be posting next week about work and free time activities.
